It is our duty as inhabitants of Planet Earth to become fully responsible of the trace we leave on the environment we live in. The first step to achieve this result is to shape the minds and habits of the people we live together, creating eco-conscious societies.
It is on these premises that partners have gathered in Athens, Greece, for the 4th transnational project meeting, in order to discuss the conclusion of the newly created e-learning course for adult educators, and in order to plan the next, larger action: GEA’s itinerant classes. A process that will involve tens of adults with less opportunities across partners’ countries to be active actors themselves.
GEA’s e-learning programme is about to be completed, having involved 15 adult educators per country, who were trained on key topics such as the use of non-formal and informal education or how to use citizen science to engage people in environmental actions. The educators were then called to be actor themselves, by designing participative environmental and climate actions that will later be proposed to local authorities.
During the next months, these educators will be involved in at least 5 itinerant classes per country, where they shall present the environmental actions to a large audience of adult learners, who will discover new ways to be more sustainable in their everyday life thanks to GEA’s educational tools! These instruments will include also a Sustainable Kit, containing useful websites and suggestions, and a printable How to Guide, to make our lives more sustainable thanks to small and easy precautions.
